The hikes depart twice a day at 10:00 am and sunset. Sunset hikes occur on the following schedule:
- November 2 - March 8: Departs at 3:00 pm
- March 9 - November 1: Departs at 4:30 pm
Meet at the Greek Theatre box office in Griffith Park.

The hike is rated easy to moderate.
Is parking available?
Yes. Free parking is offered at Griffith Park.
How long is the hike?
The entire tour is approximately 2.5 hours long.
What is included in the tour?
The tour includes an expert tour guide, water bottle, and an insiders tour of the Griffith Park Observatory (note: Observatory is closed on Mondays).
What should I bring or wear on the tour?
We recommend wearing a comfortable shirt and shorts/pants, jacket, sweatshirt or windbreaker, and closed-toe shoes. Be sure to bring your camera and fully-charged phone, too.
Is it safe to hike in Los Angeles?
Yes. Bikes and Hikes LA top priority is guests' safety. We have designed each of our tours to avoid major thoroughfares and heavy car traffic as much as possible.
Am I required to sign a waiver?
Yes. All of our guests are required to sign a waiver before they depart on the tour. If you have members of your party that are under 18, you will include them on your waiver and sign on their behalf.
Will the hike still happen if it rains?
Should Bikes and Hikes LA need to cancel a tour due to inclement weather, you will be contacted on the day of the tour. Our policy is to offer you the opportunity to reschedule your tour for a different day or to offer you a refund for the tour.
Are there restrooms on the tour?
There are restrooms available at the start of the tour and approximately an hour and a half into the tour. Please plan accordingly.
Does the tour start and finish in the same spot?
Yes.
