Hornblower Marina Del Ray Dining Cruises Frequently Asked Questions

If one or more people in my party are not able to make it or we miss the cruise departure time will we receive a refund?
No. Once payment is received cruises are non-refundable. With a 48-hour or better notice we will be happy to reschedule your cruise date or issue a gift certificate for the amount paid. Cruises are non- refundable and non-transferable within 48 hours of your cruise. We do not compensate for no-shows or late arrivals.

Is gratuity included?
A service charge is collected at the time of reservation, related to the cruise and the service included in the ticket. If you wish to purchase additional beverages or food enhancements onboard, we recommend you leave a gratuity onboard based on the quality of service provided to you by your server.

What happens if it rains or snow?
Hornblower sails rain or shine. In the case of severe weather conditions or upon the direction of the U.S. Coast Guard, we will remain dockside, but provide the full dining service.

Are there any age restrictions on your cruises?
There are no age restrictions for most of our cruises. All minors require adult supervision. Please call with questions about any of our special event cruises, as minors are not restricted, but the cruise may not be appropriate for all age groups.

Do you offer any children discounts?

What is the dress attire for the cruises?
Lunch and Brunch Cruises: We recommend California casual attire, such as khaki pants and collared shirts. We request no shorts, tank tops, flip flops, or gym shoes. Dinner Cruises: Business casual to dressy casual attire is recommended. For men, slacks or khaki pants, and a collared shirt with or without a jacket; for women slacks or skirt, with a collared shirt, or dress. We request no jeans, shorts, tank tops, flip-flops, or gym shoes on these cruises.

You may find that some guests are dressed more formally, especially those celebrating special occasions. However, attire varies from comfortable shorts to the more formal. Bring along a light jacket or wrap as it may get a bit breezy on the outer decks.

What time do I board the ship?
Boarding time is usually 30 minutes prior to departure for all cruises. Please check your boarding time when making your reservation.

Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is allowed on the outside decks only with the exception of Harbor Tours and Whale Watching Cruises. Please dispose of all refuse in proper receptacles. Do not throw anything into the water. Please help us keep our harbors clean.

Is there pre-assigned seating for dinner cruises?
As you board, our captain and marine crew will direct you to your deck. From there the host/hostess will show your party to your assigned table(s). Decks are never guaranteed to non-private groups. We assign seats based on needs and capacity for each cruise.

Will I get my own table?
On the majority of our cruises, we assign private tables to the individual parties. However, on some of our cruises, we do have cruise-style seating, where we will ask you to share a table with other parties. If this is the case, you will be told if this is the case at the time you make your reservation.

What kind of entertainment is on board?
Hornblower offers inviting dance floors and a variety of music, from the dance hits of the 40's through today as well as a variety of jazz, standards and popular favorites. Depending on the cruise, it may be background music, a DJ or a live band. Please check online or ask one of our reservations agents for more details about the planned entertainment for your specific cruise.

Can we meet the Captain and visit the pilot house?
Yes. Guests are welcome to come and meet the Captain and the First Officer. However, for safety and security reasons, we ask that you check with our staff onboard before visiting the pilot house. We want to ensure that all passengers and crew are kept safe and that the captain is not distracted while performing essential duties.

Are there vegetarian options available for dinner cruises?  Can I make a special menu request?
Yes, for dining cruises, vegetarian meals are available and can be arranged at the time of booking. If you have a group with many vegetarians or if you have vegans, please notify a reservations agent at the time of booking. If you have food allergies or other dietary restrictions, please let your reservations agent know at the time of booking. We can also accommodate most other special dietary needs with advance notice. 

For dinner cruises, when does the meal begin?
Dinner service begins immediately upon embarking.

Do we need to pre-select the menu before the day of cruising?
No, you do not need to pre-select your menu. Some of our cruises have multiple entrée options and we have a menu that you will chose from onboard. For our other cruises, we either have a preset menu or offer a buffet with a variety of options available. 


Can I bring cakes and flowers on board?
Cakes may be brought on board, however, you will be charged a cake cutting fee. Small flower bouquets are also permitted. Please keep in mind you are on a ship, so top heavy arrangements will not be stable. Unfortunately, early boarding is not available.


What decor does Hornblower provide?
All Hornblower yachts are decorated with linens, votive centerpieces, silver, and china.

Are you regulated by the U.S. Coast Guard?
Our vessels are all subject to inspections by the U.S. Coast Guards and our crew are all properly licensed. We also follow Marsec security guidelines. Should the Marsec security level be elevated, we may opt to increase security measures onboard our vessels to insure everyone’s safety. The U.S. Coast Guard requires all passengers over 18 years of age to have valid photo identification. Please make sure to have your photo ID available at boarding. 


Are life preservers on board?
Each vessel is 100% Coast Guard certified with life preservers and all required lifesaving equipment, including child life vests. 


Is the ship handicapped accessible?
Hornblower does have accessible yachts in the fleet. However, not all yachts and decks are accessible. Please call 888-467-6256 to ensure handicap accessibility for the date you are planning to cruise.

The vast majority of our guests experience no discomfort at all as we do not leave the calm waters of the harbor. If you tend to have a problem with motion sickness, you may experience seasickness. If you are sailing on one of our whale watching cruises, we do go out into the open ocean and as a result, the chance of getting seasick increases. For these cruises, we recommend that if you are prone to motion sickness that you take advantage of a number of preventative measures that are available to you.

Do I get to choose the south or north cruise for my One Hour Harbor Cruise?
You can be selective on which time you select. Currently, the North Cruise departs at 10:00 am, 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm. The North cruise covers the California Sea Lions, Nuclear Submarine Base, Star of India, Point Loma Lighthouse, America's Cup Harbor, North Island Naval Air Station and the Cabrillo National Monument. The South Cruise departs at 11:15 am, 1:45 pm and 4:15 pm and cover Midway Aircraft, Naval Destroyers & Frigates, Convention Center, Ship Building Facilities, Naval Station San Diego, Coronado Island and travel under the Coronado Bay Bridge.

Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg Speed Boat Adventure Tour

Are there any restrictions or weight requirements?
Yes, there is a per boat weight limit of 500 lbs. A small child (under 50 lbs) is allowed to sit in the middle. You must be 18 years or older to drive a boat by yourself.

Any health restrictions?
Part of the fun at Speed Boat Adventure Tours is that, at times, we will be riding in open water. Although usually calm, the harbor can be choppy at times.*We do not recommend guest with neck or back problems or a recent surgery to participate. Pregnant women should not participate.*

What to bring/wear?
1. Wear what you would to the beach depending on the temperature (swimsuit in the summer and a jacket in the winter )

Can we switch drivers?

LEGOLAND Florida Frequently Asked Questions

What is the address location?
If using a GPS system, keep in mind that LEGOLAND® Florida may not yet be included as a destination. A secondary address for GPS systems is 6000 Cypress Gardens Boulevard, Winter Haven FL 33884.

What are the parking prices at LEGOLAND® Florida?
  • Standard Parking: $21.49 plus tax ($23)
  • Preferred Parking: $30.84 plus tax ($33)
  • Motorcycle: $9.34 plus tax ($10)
  • RV/Camper: $22.69 plus tax ($24)
Buses and bicycles are free.

Re-entry available with valid parking stub during same day of visit.
Handicapped parking spaces are available near the park entrance, with valid placard.

Can I drop off guests at LEGOLAND® Florida without paying for parking?
Yes, as you enter the parking lot you will see signs for a drop off area to your right. Simply turn right into this horseshoe-shaped area, where you are welcome to drop off your guests.

Are there kennels located at the park?
Yes, Kennels are located west of the front gate area.  Please note – pets are not permitted within the park grounds except for trained service animals. Are strollers/wheelchairs available for rent?
Strollers, wheelchairs and ECVs are available for rent at the Marketplace on a first come, first served basis. Stroller pricing is $14 for single seat stroller and $20 for double seat stroller. Wheelchairs are $12 and ECVs are available shaded ($55 + tax) and unshaded ($45 + tax).

Can I bring my own stroller, ECV or wheelchair?
Yes, you can bring your own.

Florida?
In keeping with our child-friendly atmosphere, smoking is prohibited in all areas of the park. Use designated smoking areas located outside of the main entrance.  Please remember to get your hand stamped before exiting for re-admittance. 

Are coolers, outside food or alcohol allowed at LEGOLAND®?
Outside coolers, food and beverages may not be brought into the park. However, exceptions are made for infants and those with special medical needs.  Bottled water is allowed.  Alcohol may not be brought onto LEGOLAND® Florida property. Any food required for special dietary needs or baby food/formula is allowed.

Are weapons allowed inside the park?
All weapons and firearms of any type are prohibited on LEGOLAND® property.

What items or behaviors are not permitted at LEGOLAND® Florida?
In order to help maintain our family atmosphere, we request that there be no offensive language or behavior. No offensive or rude clothing is allowed. Segways, roller blades, wheeled shoes and skateboards are prohibited. For the comfort of those around you, we request there be no flash photography, smoking, eating or drinking in any attraction. No weapons of any kind are allowed on park property.

What kind of shopping options are available in LEGOLAND® Florida?
Specialty retail shops and carts are located throughout the Park selling LEGOLAND® Florida apparel, LEGO® products and more. The Big Shop, the largest retail shop located in The Beginning, is jam-packed with the biggest selection of LEGO® products in the nation! As an added convenience, make sure to take advantage of the Package Pick-up service. All retail purchases made throughout the park can be transferred to the park exit for you to pick up on your way home.

When is LEGOLAND® Florida open?
LEGOLAND Florida is open daily, but is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday during specific periods. Please view the operating calendar before your visit. Toll and ticket booths open approx. 45 minutes prior to Park opening. 

If I leave LEGOLAND® Florida, can I re-enter the park on the same day?

Can I upgrade my ticket to a season pass?
Yes, you can stop by guest services while at the park to upgrade your ticket. Guest services is located inside the turnstiles at the main entrance.

Are there lockers available to store personal items?
Lockers are available for rent in The Beginning and inside LEGOLAND® Water Park. LEGOLAND® Florida is not responsible for personal items.

Does LEGOLAND® Florida offer Parent Swap for rides?
LEGOLAND® Florida offers our visiting parents, who have children that meet and don’t meet the minimum height restriction, the opportunity to do a “Child Swap” at any ride that parents are allowed to ride. All members of the party are required to wait in line together. When you reach the front, let the ride operator know of your intention, so that he can accommodate you. When the first ride is over, the parents may then switch places and the other parent can then ride with the older child.

What kind of dining options are available at LEGOLAND® Florida?
We offer a great variety of family-friendly foods, such as our delicious wood-fired pizza, truly homemade pasta, rotisserie chicken, freshly tossed salads, fresh sandwiches, juicy grilled burgers and more.

What happens if it rains?
Due to Central Florida's tropical climate, thunderstorms occur regularly. In the event of lightning within close proximity to the park, outdoor attractions will be closed for the safety of all guests. Since these storms occur in the late afternoon or early evenings, we recommend you plan to use this time for souvenir shopping or enjoying any of the indoor attractions. Rain checks and refunds are not permitted due to weather.

What can we do at LEGOLAND® Florida to celebrate a birthday?
Make sure you pick up your birthday button at the ticket window or Guest Services! Party packages are available for groups of 10 or more.

Is commercial photography allowed inside LEGOLAND® Florida?
All LEGOLAND® Florida attractions, rides and LEGO® brick models are protected by copyright. Guests must have written permission to use photographs or videotape of LEGOLAND® images for commercial broadcasting, advertising, marketing or publishing in any medium.

What is Bonus Brick Time?
This allows all Annual Pass members & LEGOLAND® Hotel guests' only early entry into LEGOLAND® Florida starting at 9:30 a.m. and includes entry to Island in the Sky, the Grand Carousel, Dragon Coaster, DUPLO® Valley Train & Tractor, Lost Kingdom Adventure and Miniland.

What facilities are available in the park for mothers with infants?
The Baby Care Center in located in DUPLO® Village and is stocked with bottle warmers, high chairs, rockers for nursing mothers, baby change facilities, a cell phone charging station and microwave.

Does LEGOLAND® offer a shuttle from Orlando?
Yes.  LEGOLAND® offers a shuttle from I-Drive 360 on International Drive to its theme park in Winter Haven, FL.  The shuttle leaves at 9:00am and leaves to return to Orlando at park closing. The cost is $5 round trip per person, plus tax and parking in the Universal Boulevard parking garage is free. Reservations are recommended. For information, call 866-225-2444.
