What are Wonders of Flight operating hours?
Open Daily at 10am.
How long will a ride last?
The average ride is approximately 5 and 10 minutes long, but could last up to 15 minutes depending on wind and weather conditions.
Can I bring food into Wonders of Flight?
Outside food and drinks are not permitted at Wonders of Flight.
Can I take pictures?
Yes, you may take pictures during your flight.
Who can ride?
All ages can participate, however children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The balloon can fit standard-sized wheelchairs.
What makes the balloon fly?
It is filled with helium, which is much lighter than air. Helium won’t catch fire or explode. It’s the same gas used in party balloons.
How many people can ride at a time?
Typically around 20 guests per flight. However, the number of guests for each flight is determined by the pilot, based in part upon wind speed and weather conditions at flight time.
How much can the balloon lift?
More than 10,000 pounds! But don’t worry, it won’t get away. The winch that pulls the balloon down can hold 90,000 pounds.
Who’s flying the balloon?
Each Wonders of Flight balloon pilot is certified by the manufacturer of the balloon and has undergone intensive gas balloon training, including strict safety guidelines, FAA regulations, meteorology and emergency procedures.
What if I miss my flight due to weather?
A Staff will work to accommodate you to ride at a later time that day if weather permits.
