The Museum of Modern Art - MoMA

Is parking available?
The Museum does not have a parking garage. However, MoMA visitors and members receive discounted parking at nearby garages. Parking is first come, first served. Tickets must be validated. The 1345 Garage is located at 101-41 West 54 Street (between Sixth and Seventh avenues, on the left side of the street, under the Ziegfeld Theater. Tickets must be validated at either the lobby information desk or the film desk. Parking fees vary per hour.

Are cameras allowed?
Still photography for personal use is permitted in collection galleries only. No flash, tripods, or camera extension poles allowed. Videotaping is permitted in the lobby only. No photographs or videotapes may be reproduced, distributed, or sold without permission from the Museum.

Do you offer a coat check?
Yes, all bags are subject to security inspection before entering the Museum. The Museum requires visitors to check all items that are larger than 11 x 15 x 5 inches (28 x 38 x 13 cm) and can check items as large as 14 x 22 x 9 inches (36 x 56 x 23 cm). To avoid a long wait in the checkroom line, visitors should not bring such items. Any item that is larger than 14 x 22 x 9 inches (36 x 56 x 23 cm) will not be allowed in the checkroom and cannot be brought into the galleries.

What items are not allowed?
Any item that is larger than 14 x 22 x 9 inches (36 x 56 x 23 cm) will not be allowed. Food and drink cannot be brought into the Museum and may not be checked at the coat checks. The use of pens and markers is prohibited. Talking on cellular phones is not permitted in the Museum's galleries or theaters. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Museum.

Are strollers allowed?
Baby strollers are permitted at all times, but are not permitted on escalators.

Are wheelchairs available?
Wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis and are located in the checkroom in the main lobby. Motorized wheelchairs are permitted.

Is the museum wheelchair accessible?
All public areas of the Museum are wheelchair accessible. All entrances are wheelchair accessible. Entrances with power assist doors are located on Fifty-third and Fifty-fourth streets between Fifth and Sixth avenues.

Can we draw in the galleries?
Pens and other coloring utensils are not allowed in Museum galleries. Pencils are allowed, but we ask that adults carry them while traveling in the galleries.

I heard that kids receive free admission. Up to what age?
Kids 16 and under receive free admission to the Museum.
